Monday, May 15, 2023, was National Chocolate Chip Day. Who knew? Every day should be National Chocolate Chip Day. It was started in the United States in 1997 to celebrate the deliciousness and versatility of the chocolate chip – a beloved cookie ingredient and treat! The day was intended to help to remind us of the joy that chocolate chips bring, but it also serves as a reminder of the importance of taking time out from our busy schedules and indulging in some self-care.
The origins of National Chocolate Chip Day are unclear; however, it is believed to have been started by a group of bakeries who wanted to honor their sweet and tasty creation. Since then, it has become a popular annual celebration, with many countries joining in on the festivities.
