Family Photography and Videos Using The GoPro Hero 12

By now, you know that I love to use a variety of cameras to capture special moments. I recently purchased a GoPro Hero 12 camera and am excited to share my experience. If you’re like me—not a 20-year-old extreme adventurer but someone who loves capturing family moments—you’re in for a treat. Compared to other cameras I use (i.e., iPhone 13 Pro Max, Browning StrikeForce Field Cameras, Canon EOS, and the GoPro Hero 06), the GoPro Hero 12 stands out with its unique features tailored for family-oriented photography and videos.

Key Features of the GoPro Hero 12

(Alert: semi-technical stuff here)

The GoPro Hero 12 has some fantastic upgrades that make it stand out, especially for family-oriented photography and videos:

  • Improved Image Quality

The Hero 12’s new image sensor delivers stunning 23.6-megapixel photos and 5.3K video resolution, ensuring your family moments will be captured in breathtaking detail and vivid colors, sparking excitement about the potential of your family photos and videos.

  • Easy-to-Use Interface

The Hero 12 features an intuitive and easy-to-navigate interface, ensuring it is a breeze regardless of your tech savvy. This provides reassurance about the camera’s accessibility.

  • Enhanced Stability

No more shaky videos! The Hero 12 comes with HyperSmooth 4.0 stabilization, ensuring smooth and steady videos even when chasing after energetic kids or pets.

In this video, I have my new GoPro Hero 12 on a tripod taking video, and I’m taking further videos and photos with my GoPro Hero 6. Both of these cameras are designed to be used in water situations such as a swimming pool and I don’t have to be worried about damaging the cameras.

  • Waterproof and Durable

The standout feature for me was the ability to take underwater shots. I wanted to capture the underwater movement of three wiggly and active young golden retrievers. All videos and photos I posted of underwater activity were taken using the GoPro Hero 12. The Hero 12 is waterproof up to 33 feet (10 meters) without a housing, making it perfect for capturing poolside adventures and underwater playtime.

  • Versatile Shooting Modes

The Hero 12 offers a variety of shooting modes: video, photo, and time-lapse. The video mode lets you capture high-quality footage of family events, the photo mode enables you to take stunning stills, and the time-lapse mode is perfect for creating unique videos of family activities.

Personal Experience with the GoPro Hero 12

Before upgrading to the Hero 12, I used the GoPro Hero 6. While the Hero 6 served its purpose, the Hero 12’s features and ease of use have blown me away. The Hero 12’s improved image quality, stability, and underwater capabilities are a significant upgrade from the Hero 6.

During our weekly playgroups, one of my favorite uses for the Hero 12 is capturing underwater shots of my dogs, Teddy, Bear, and Summer. They love splashing around in the pool’s shallow end, and the Hero 12 allows me to capture those joyful moments in stunning detail. The waterproof feature and improved stability have made a world of difference in the quality of my videos.

I also appreciate the Hero 12’s easy-to-use interface. Setting up shots and switching between modes is quick and straightforward, even when I’m in the middle of the action. Whether taking photos of my doggy kids in the pool or recording family outings, the Hero 12 makes the process effortless.

Why the GoPro Hero 12 is Perfect for Families

The GoPro Hero 12 isn’t just for extreme athletes and adventurers. Its features make it ideal for everyday family use:

  • Capture Every Moment: From family vacations to weekend barbecues, the Hero 12 ensures you never miss a moment.
  • User-Friendly: The intuitive interface and versatile shooting modes mean anyone in the family can pick it up and start capturing memories.
  • Durable and Waterproof: Whether you’re at the beach, pool, or park, the Hero 12 can handle it.
  • Shareable Memories: The stunning image quality and stabilization make sharing your memories with friends and family accessible through social media or home videos.

Even though I regularly promote the benefits of my Browning Strikeforce Field Cameras, I want to praise the new GoPro Hero 12. The GoPro Hero 12 is a game-changer for family-oriented photography and videos. Its improved features, ease of use, and versatility make it perfect for capturing special moments with loved ones. I’ll keep you updated on my progress in learning to use my GoPro Hero 12
