I am an American who has deeply admired Queen Elizabeth II for being a stable force in the world, her dedication to duty, England, and her people. Queen Elizabeth was a graceful, kind, and noble queen whose passing saddens me!
Queen Elizabeth II will have many tributes, but as a fellow animal lover, I want to acknowledge her love of animals, specifically her horses and dogs. Queen Elizabeth was a dedicated horsewoman and dog lover. She had many horses and dogs throughout her life, and understood their needs. She even had a horse trainer who lived at Buckingham Palace!
The Queen was an avid horse rider. She participated in fox hunting and other equestrian sports and represented Britain in international competitions when younger.
Queen Elizabeth knew patience and understanding were crucial for a successful animal relationship. So it has been reported that she would often take her time to get to know each dog or horse and never force them to do anything they didn’t want to do. She understood that the animals were remarkable.
Thank you, Queen Elizabeth, for your dedication to your duty, England, people, and love of animals.
Thank you for everything! May you rest in peace.
