One Step at a Time

I hope that you and your family are healthy and safe! The coronavirus is horrifying. Like others, I am having difficulty dealing with stress, isolation, and fear, and I tend to worry about things I have no control over. So I am trying to focus on the things I enjoy and can share with you. Thank you for your kind comments! You’ve made me happy!

I know that there is interest, particularly in the bears, and you are waiting for an update. I don’t have any pictures of my beautiful bears yet. You can be sure that I will post as soon as I have photos. I am particularly hoping for images of cubs, but we’ll see.

I’ve posted previous photos of my three bears below. I had a naming contest on Facebook, and that’s how each bear was named.

This is the matriarch, Pillow.
This is Rose. I love her smirky little smile!
This is Ursa. I have a very limited number of photos of her.

I would also love to see baby Grey Foxes! Walker and Fluffy are permanent neighbors, but I have yet to see their pups.

Fluffy is the female, and she has a black dot on her tail.
Walker is the male, and he has a black strip that run the complete length of his tail. I also think that his face has a very "cat" like appearance.

So while I am waiting for the stars of the show to make their apparance, I am following the steps recommended, which include social distancing, wearing masks, and staying home. Wearing a mask whenever I am out in public, but acquiring actual protective masks is a problem! They are very limited. I tried creating a mask using a regular size handkerchief and folding it carefully and then using rubber bands, but it didn’t work well, or I have a big head. My husband found some old masks for construction projects, and I tried one of those. It was a disaster! There was no flexibility over the bridge of my nose. I wear glasses, and the mask lifted the glasses to an angle where I couldn’t see anything. I was continually pulling the mask down with my hand so that I could see. Counterproductive, I was transferring the germs on my hands directly to the mask.

Third attempt, we are using larger handkerchiefs and they seem to be working.

One final suggestion, if you have the opportunity to take a walk among the trees while practicing social distancing, please consider it. I find it very healing. Whether I am walking in the city or a forest, the trees are always peaceful! I find them nurturing. It’s almost like they are assuring me that everything will be OK.
