I have a lifelong love of bears, and March 23rd was World Bear Day; how could I have been unaware of World Bear Day? Well, I need to learn more about World Bear Day—another learning journey.
World Bear Day is celebrated on March 23rd of each year and was created in 2012 by World Animal Protection – an international nonprofit organization that works to improve the animal welfare worldwide. World Bear Day is a special day dedicated to raising awareness about the conservation efforts of bears. Every year, World Animal Protection organizes bear protection campaigns, events, and initiatives to bring attention to threats to these animals. In addition, World Bear Day provides an opportunity for people from all over the world to come together and make a difference in protecting threatened bear populations.
The World Animal Protection organization has worked tirelessly to aid global bear conservation since 1985. Their work focuses on reducing hunting for commercial trade in parts & products and recreational hunting. World Animal Protection also focuses on protecting bear habitats and reducing human-bear conflict. World Bear Day is a day to recognize their efforts, thank all those working towards saving bears from extinction, and promote further conservation action for these animals.
Next World Bear Day, I hope to join World Animal Protection in advocating for the conservation of my beloved bears! I want to work to support the World Animal Protection organization so that bears get the long-term protection and support they need to survive and thrive!
World Animal Protection is an international nonprofit organization that protects animals worldwide and prevents animal cruelty. I just learned about the World Animal Protection organization, but it has been working hard to ensure that bears worldwide have safe homes and are protected from cruelty and exploitation for over ten years.
The World Wildlife Fund, an organization that I am familiar with, estimates that there are currently over 200 species of bears living in the wild, all facing unique threats such as climate change, habitat loss due to human activity, illegal hunting, and poaching for fur or body parts used for traditional medicine. World Bear Day’s mission is to raise awareness of the global bear conservation movement and unite people worldwide in protecting bears.
