I am going to take a break from typical main topics to respond to your comments and questions. I’ve received so many heartfelt and supportive comments, and I want you to know how much each one means to me! I am trying to answer each one personally, but I am not able to respond as quickly as I’d like.
I’ve also received numerous blogging questions, and I want to answer as many of your questions as possible. Some items are similar, so I am going to try to generalize.
First, what is a Blog?
The term “blog” is a shortened version of the word weblog. For me, my blog (weblog) is an online journal, online diary, or informational website, where I can share my views on topics of my choice. Some blogs are commercial, some provide a public service, and others are purely creative.
I believe that my style of blog falls somewhere in the blogger’s categories of “Creative, Personal, and Niche.”
How and why did I start blogging?
I enjoy writing, and writing is my preferred form of communication. During my career, I wrote many training manuals for specific audiences, and once I retired, I was free to write about my interests. My blog about Retirement discusses by beginning thoughts about writing a blog.

Do you write your blogs, or is someone else writing for you?
I am the sole writer and photographer for my blog. I do not have any guest authors or writers contributing to my blog. Perhaps in the future, but not at this time.
Do I offer apprenticeship opportunities to new bloggers?
Oh my goodness, thank you, but I am not qualified!
There are innumerable “How to Start Blogging” videos on YouTube that can provide more information than I can. The tutorials on YouTube are exactly where I started.
Why did I choose the name “I Don’t Know All the Answers” for my blog? It is not exciting enough.
The name for my blog (my domain name), “I Don’t Know All the Answers,” is appropriate for both my blog and where I am in life. It may not be exciting, but it is entirely appropriate! If you start a blog, you will find your perfect title, and don’t be discouraged if someone else doesn’t like it. Be true to yourself!
Have I ever considered changing the structure of my blog? It needs more content and images.
No, at this time, I do not plan to change the structure of my site.
The text is running off the screen in Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer for some users.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. There are possible incompatibility issues with the browsers mentioned. This reported problem is not consistent for every user using these browsers, so it could be individual computer issues. I will have to look into it. I am not sure how to correct it at this time, but I’ll keep you posted.
Does managing a website require a lot of work, and do I have any advice for aspiring new blog writers?
Yes, managing and nurturing your website requires dedication, time, and a lot of work. Luckily I am writing about my passion; therefore, the process is enjoyable. It is imperative to be consistent.
Did I hire a developer to create my website?
No, but as I began working more and thoughtfully on my blog, I recognized that I needed to find support. I went with Bluehost.

The Bluehost Support team guided me to the CAPTCHA plug-in and helped select the correct version for my site.
Do I get a lot of spam?
I have the CAPTCHA plug-in, but I still receive a lot of spam. It is very frustrating.
Can I recommend any other blogs/websites/or forums that deal with the same subjects?
No, but I would appreciate your recommendation.
Do I know of any plug-ins that will help with search engine optimization?
To answer questions like this, I would have to consult support. Sorry, but I am still learning, and as my title says, I don’t know all the answers!
Do you experience “writer’s block,” and if so, how do you handle it?
Note: This was a personal question, but I thought others might be experiencing this problem as well.
We all have such busy lives, and like you, I feel completely overwhelmed at times. Not conducive for creative thinking! I don’t have any particular process to clear my mind and get past the “writer’s block,” but I do give myself permission not to be perfect and rewrite as many times as needed. Eventually, my thoughts start coming together.
I don’t feel qualified to tell you or anyone else how to overcome writer’s block, but I will suggest the following:
- Be patient with yourself.
- Let your imagination flow.
- Don’t strive for perfection.
- Allow yourself time to put your thoughts together.
