Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is a day that holds a special place in our hearts. It’s a time to thank the most beloved women in our lives – mothers. This holiday has been celebrated for over a century, beginning with Anna Jarvis’ inspiring campaign to make it official in 1914. Since then, it has become an annual tradition across the world. It’s a time for us to reflect on the unwavering love and support our mothers have given us throughout our lives. Mother’s Day allows us to say “thank you” and show appreciation to the women who sacrificed so much for us. We can demonstrate our love through thoughtful cards, a meaningful gift, or simply spending time together. But I want to make this year’s Mother’s Day celebration one for the books for all mothers!

Mother’s Day can be such a special occasion when we can all show our moms how much they mean to us. But it’s also a day that can be tough for those of us who have lost our mothers. I know that Mother’s Day can bring forth all kinds of emotions. It could be a reminder of happy times spent together or the absence of someone so important to us. Whatever your experience, I want you to know you’re not alone. I understand that this day can be bittersweet. I lost my mom in 2000.

I am fortunate to have two beautiful daughters-in-law, a wonderful sister-in-law, and a daughter of my heart. All of whom are the best moms in the world, but I miss my mom on this special day. So if you are fortunate enough to have your mother still, please give her hugs and tell her how much you love her. Please give her a hug from me too!

This is my favorite photo of my mother.
My mother was tall, slender, elegant, and multitalented.

Whether you give your mother a physical gift, some kind word or gesture, spend quality time with her or love her memory. Whether you are celebrating with your mom, celebrating with others who have acted as a surrogate mother to you, or simply sending your wishes from afar- celebrate moms everywhere this Mother’s Day.

  1. I remember Aunt Donna at Grandma and Grandpa Kranz’s house on Fay Road. She was a beautiful woman and a very talented artist. I lost my mom when she was 61 from a massive heart attack and not a day goes by that I don’t think of her. Thanks, Nikki, and have a HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY.

    1. I am extremely sorry to learn about the loss of your mother to a massive heart attack, especially at such a young age. Losing our mother can be one of the hardest things we ever experience. Please take care Karen, I know your mother would be so proud of the woman you are today. Much love and hugs to you!
