National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day

National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day is an annual celebration that began in 2013 and takes place on March 1st each year. National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day was started by Peter Pan Peanut Butter, one of the leading peanut butter producers in the United States. The day celebrates all aspects of peanut butter, including recipes, history, and even trivia about the popular condiment. National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day allows everyone to enjoy this tasty food, whether fans of crunchy or smooth varieties.

To celebrate National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day in 2023, consider trying something new with your favorite spread – from making homemade almond butter sandwiches to creating unique desserts like no-bake cookies or ice cream pies. Alternatively, brush up on your peanut butter knowledge with a fun trivia game or create a fun PB&J-themed outfit to show appreciation for this beloved treat. National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day is the perfect chance to indulge in the nutty goodness of peanut butter and honor its place in our diets over the years.

To celebrate the day, I made peanut butter that would be safe for Teddy, Bear, and Summer to eat. I followed the recipe listed below on the Vitamix website.

Peanut Butter

This classic sandwich spread contains just one ingredient–peanuts.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups (600 g) peanuts, roasted, unsalted

Directions

  1. Place nuts into the Vitamix container and secure the lid.
  2. Start the blender at its lowest speed, then quickly increase it to its highest speed, using the tamper to press ingredients toward the blades.
  3. In 1 minute, you will hear a high-pitched chugging sound. Continue using the tamper until the peanut butter flows freely through the blades. For a creamy peanut butter blend, for a total of 2 minutes.
I bought 2-pint size Mason Jars. I used two.
I bought 4 12 oz packages of unsalted roasted peanuts. I used only 1 3/4 bags.
4 cups of peanuts
The peanuts are ready in the Vitamix.
I followed the recipe instructions, started at the lowest speed, and advanced to the highest. At this point, the peanuts were liquified and warm. Note: The sound was loud and scared Teddy and Bear.
I should have purchased a larger size of Mason Jars.
Teddy's first taste of peanut butter.
Bear's first taste of peanut butter.

My taste testers approved of my homemade peanut butter. The time I spend making tasty treats for my doggie kids is worth it because I don’t have to worry about xylitol or other dangerous sugars for dogs.

So now Teddy and Bear can commemorate National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day with a tiny taste of safe peanut butter!

You may not want to make peanut butter, but no matter how you celebrate National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day on March 1st, we can all agree it’s worth celebrating! So embrace National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day 2023 as an opportunity to have fun and honor the universal popularity of one of America’s favorites.

Happy National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day!
