Forest Therapy: Find Peace and Creativity in Nature

In a previous blog, I wrote about how the tall pine trees comforted me. At the time, I didn’t know that there was something called Forest Therapy.

“Nature therapy sometimes referred to as ecotherapyforest therapyforest bathinggroundingearthingShinrin-Yoku, or Sami Lok, is a practice that describes a broad group of techniques or treatments to use nature to improve mental or physical health.

Spending time in nature has various physiological benefits, such as relaxation and stress reduction.”

There is something about being in the forest surrounded by quiet trees that helps me to feel grounded and peaceful. I’ve noticed that whenever I am in the tall pines, I think much more clearly, and I find that I am more creative. Also, the older I become, the more I crave quiet.

I find that I can connect with my innermost thoughts and feelings more easily when I am in nature. Being in the forest allows me to be present in the moment. It is where I can go to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and be at peace.

If you live in an urban area, there are often community gardens or parks that you can visit to get your nature fix. Even a tiny patch of grass and some trees can provide the same benefits!

I encourage you to take some time for yourself and go for a walk in the woods or the closest park. Let nature surround you and see how it makes you feel. You may be surprised at its impact on your creativity and peace of mind. Happy exploring!
