Vanilla Ice Cream

Now for the second recipe I wanted to share with you—the recipe for Vanilla ice cream. This recipe is also from the Simply Scratch website (see the link and webpage image below). The recipe only calls for five easy ingredients; heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and sea salt. The ice cream is so creamy and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup whole milk or 1 cup half-and-half
  • 3/4 of a cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of Fine sea salt (a “pinch” equals 1/16 of a teaspoon)

Instructions

  1. Place the ice cream maker into the freezer and chill according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. For the ice cream base, measure all ingredients into a large bowl.
  3. Stir to combine and dissolve sugar; for about three minutes
  4. Assemble your ice cream maker, and pour the mixture into the machine. Churn until frozen.
  5. Spoon ice cream into an airtight container and freeze for hours or overnight to freeze completely.
  6. Serve as desired

Note: I am using the KitchenAid Ice Cream Maker.
